California Consumer Privacy Act Notice

Leggett & Platt, Incorporated and certain of its subsidiaries which are in-scope for purposes of the California Consumer Privacy Act (collectively, referred to as the “Company”, “Leggett”, “Leggett & Platt”, “L&P”, “we”, “us” or “our”) have adopted this California Consumer Privacy Act Notice (the “Notice”) in accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, and implementing regulations (“CCPA”). Terms used but not defined in this Notice shall have the meaning set forth in the CCPA.

This Notice applies solely to California residents and supplements the information contained in our Privacy Notice, which we encourage you to also read for information regarding our practices, including with respect to 3rd Party services used on our sites, our use of cookies and our recognition of supported privacy browser signals. This notice does not apply to the collection and use of Personal Information in the context of recruiting or employment, which is subject to separate privacy notices.

Information We Collect, Use, or Disclose

As part of our business activities, we collect and process information that may identify, relate to, or could reasonably be linked with a particular California consumer or household (“Personal Information”). In particular and depending upon our interaction with you, we may have collected, disclosed, and sold the below categories of Personal Information regarding California residents within the last twelve (12) months.

In this context, “sold” means the disclosure of Personal Information for monetary or other valuable consideration, but does not include, for example, the transfer of Personal Information as an asset that is part of a merger, bankruptcy, or other disposition of all or any portion of our business. “Share” means the disclosure of personal information to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising, whether or not for monetary or other valuable consideration.

We do not collect personal information in the categories of Protected Characteristics, Biometric Information, Education Information subject to FERPA, Inferences, or Sensitive Personal Information. Since we do not collect Sensitive Personal Information, we do not use or disclose it outside of the permitted purposes allowed under the CCPA. We do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share the Personal Information of consumers under the age of 16.

Sources of Personal Information

As described in our Privacy Notice we collect this Personal Information directly from you when you voluntarily interact with us such as by submitting a request for information or product support, subscribing to newsletters, registering for or attending events, or placing an order. For example, when you order a product we may collect billing, payment and shipping information, or when you subscribe to a newsletter or register for an event we may collect your name, email, title or other professional information.

We also collect information automatically through various technologies when you visit or use our websites. For example, our sites may collect IP addresses, type of browser, type of computer or operating system being used. We also use cookies which are small information files that are stored at your device when you communicate with our website. Cookies have various functions such as delivering full site functionality, improving user experiences on our sites, or personalizing features. You have choices with respect to the use of cookies in our interactions with you. We may also collect Personal Information from other categories of sources, such as our affiliates, customers, suppliers, service providers, business partners, media, social networks, publicly available databases, and marketing companies, when they share it with us.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We may use Personal Information to:

  • Identify and authenticate users;
  • Operate, analyze and improve the performance and content of our sites, including debugging and repairing errors that impair intended functionality;
  • Deliver services, products, or information to you and otherwise complete transactions;
  • Help protect the health and safety of persons and property at our facilities;
  • Improve and train customer service agents and otherwise accurately record interactions
  • To accomplish our business purposes and objectives, including, for example, to:
    • Manage existing and prospective client, customers, service provider, contractor, vendor, or other third-party relationships (e.g., in relation to the initiation, conclusion or fulfilment of a contract, to track sales, deliveries, and returns, and to perform due diligence);
    • Advertise or market to you and otherwise communicate about products we offer or intend to offer, the improvement of our products, and the review of our business relationship;
    • Perform accounting, auditing, billing, and collection activities, including identity verification and risk analysis;
    • Improve our website, your interaction with our website, and the content delivered through that interaction, including auditing ad impressions to unique visitors;
    • Detect security incidents and protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity;
    • Meet legal or regulatory obligations (e.g. financial and administrative obligations); and
    • Establish, enforce or defend against legal or regulatory claims or as otherwise necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property or safety of us, our customers, or others.

To manage our business relationship, we might share your Personal Information internally with members of our marketing, sales, credit, supply chain, quality assurance, finance, IT, and legal departments as well as with our affiliates.

In addition, we may disclose your Personal Information to the following categories of recipients:

  • Third parties, service providers, contractors, for example, to assist us in providing our products and services, process payment, market our services, operate our network, and otherwise for our business and commercial purposes
  • Customers
  • Auditors and advisers;
  • Internet service providers, operating system and platform providers, data analytics providers, and Internet cookie data recipients;
  • Law enforcement, government authorities or courts to comply with applicable laws or to protect our rights; and
  • Other parties in the event of any contemplated or actual reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets or stock (including in any insolvency or similar proceedings)

Your California Privacy Rights and How to Exercise Them

As a California resident, you may be able to exercise the following rights in relation to the Personal Information collected about you (subject to permissible limitations, exceptions and verification requirements):

  • Right to Know/Accesswhat Personal Information we have collected about you, including (to the extent applicable):
    • the categories of Personal Information collected, sold, or shared;
    • the categories of sources from which it is collected;
    • the business or commercial purpose for collecting, selling, or sharing;
    • the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed, sold, or shared Personal Information;
    • the specific pieces of Personal Information we collected about you;
  • Right to Delete Personal Information we collected from you;
  • Right to Correct inaccurate Personal Information, taking into account the nature of it and purposes of processing; and
  • Right to Opt-out of any future “sale” or “sharing” of Personal Information about you by clicking on the cookies preferences on our webpages or by using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" option from the Contact Us form at this Site.

You also have the right to not be discriminated against in pricing and services because you exercise any of your rights under the CCPA. We do not offer financial incentives or price or service differences to consumers in exchange for the retention or sale of a consumer’s personal information.

You, or your authorized agent, may submit a request to Know/Access, Delete, or Correct by:

  1. Calling us at our 1-833-825-3660;
  2. Submitting the Contact Us form at this Site; or
  3. E-mailing privacy@leggett.com

When you submit a request, you must provide your name and preferred contact information so that we can contact you for any additional information necessary to fulfill the request or to verify your identity or authority of an authorized agent, as permitted by the CCPA. For example, we may verify you by requesting specific information to match data points we maintain and have determined to be reliable for purposes of verification. The number and type of data points may vary based on the sensitivity of the Personal Information involved and the risk of harm posed by unauthorized activity. Authorized agents must provide sufficient evidence of their authorization such as a certified copy of a Power of Attorney granted under California Probate Code or signed documentation evidencing permission to submit the request on your behalf. We may also verify your identity and have you confirm with us that you provided the authorized agent permission to submit the request on your behalf.

You must describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it. You may be required to provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify your identity. Please note that there are circumstances in which we may not be able to comply with your request pursuant to the CCPA, including when we cannot verify your request and/or when there is a conflict with our own obligations to comply with other legal or regulatory requirements. We will notify you following submission of your request if this is the case.

Updates to this Notice

We reserve the right to revise or update our policies and this Notice at any time consistent with applicable law. This Notice is effective when posted and the date at the top reflects the date last updated.
