Leggett & Platt, Inc. together with its affiliated companies and subsidiaries (collectively referred to as the Company, “Leggett & Platt”, “Leggett”, “we”, “us” or “our”) may collect and process your personal information when you visit one of our websites, subscribe to our events, communicate with us such as by submitting a question, sign up for our e-mail newsletters or other communication, or when you purchase or interact with us about one of our products and services. The privacy and protection of your personal information is important to us. This Privacy Notice describes the information we collect, use, and share during our relationships with our customers, potential customers, and visitors to our websites or events. Other Privacy Notices may apply to specific regions, use cases, or products. We encourage you to read this Privacy Notice and other applicable Privacy Notices (see links found to the left of this page) in their entirety to understand our privacy practices. If you are a Company employee, please refer to the Company Intranet for any applicable Employee Privacy Notice.

Information We Collect

Personal Information You Voluntarily Provide. We may collect personal information when you voluntarily interact with us, such as by communicating with us orally and via email, subscribing to receive newsletters, registering for and attending trade shows or investor calls, engaging in interactive and community features, requesting event information, participating in surveys and questionnaires, and through completing an online form. This may take the form of contact information, such as your name, home or other physical address, email address, telephone number, fax number, or information about your professional responsibilities such as organization name or other company information, purchasing responsibilities, and job title, among other information.

At some of our sites, we offer interactive and community features such as discussion forums, message boards, chat rooms, and user blogs. When you participate, all personal information sent or posted via such features becomes public information and may be collected and used by others. We urge you to carefully consider what personal information you post, and thereby make accessible to others, in these features.

Personal Information to Support Our Products and Services. We may collect personal information to respond to your specific request or to fulfill an order. For example, when you order a product or service from us, we may collect billing, payment, and shipping information.

We may send updates that contain important information about our products and services you have acquired from Leggett & Platt. For example, we send new customers a welcoming message and verify password and username for our password-protected web sites. We may also communicate with a customer to provide requested services and for account-related issues via e-mail, phone, or postal mail. In addition to such service and product-essential messages, we offer our customers the option to receive information about our Company, related products, services and special product or service offers.

We also have features where our customers can submit information to us (such as our feedback forms). Where such submissions include requests for service, product support, or other information, we may use the information submitted and other account information to respond to the specific request.

Personal Information We May Automatically Collect. We may use various technologies to collect personal information about you when you visit or use our websites ("Sites"). We may also collect information from promotional communications. These technologies may include:

  • Cookies. Like many websites, our Sites may use "cookies." A cookie is a small information file that is stored at your device when you communicate with our websites. We use cookies to deliver full website functionality, to improve a user’s experience on our Sites, for example, to remember your choices for your next visit, to personalize features of the Sites for you, to analyze the traffic on the Sites, to better understand visitor and customer usage of our Sites, and to maintain and make improvements based on the information we collect.

You have choices with respect to the use of cookies in our interactions with you. You can change your cookie settings at any time by clicking on Cookie Settings at the bottom of the Site visited. We also recognize Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals as noted below. There are different categories of cookies, and your choices may affect the performance and functionality of the Sites:

    • Necessary Cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in, or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the Site will not work if the cookie is blocked. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information.

    • Functional Cookies enable the website to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies it may result in some or all of these services to not function properly.

    • Performance Cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our Site. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the Site. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies we will not know when you have visited our Site and will not be able to monitor the Site’s performance.

    • Targeting Cookies may be set through our Site by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. They do not store directly personal information but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.

Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track (DNT) Signals. You may send us as well your preferred option directly from your browser. Our Sites recognize GPC and DNT signals when sent by a website visitor’s browser, using regionalized defaults. These defaults, which are set by Leggett & Platt when recognizing the signals, may be adjusted by the website visitor by reviewing and setting additional preferences.

  • Internet Protocol (IP) Addresses and Device Information. Our Sites may collect IP addresses. An IP address is a number assigned by your Internet Services Provider (ISP). Web servers will identify your device requests by its IP address to be able respond to your browser and to know where to deliver the requested information. In addition, web servers may be able to identify the type of browser, type of computer, or operating system being used from the information your browser sends. We log IP addresses and related information such as date, time, and duration of Site access for the purposes of internal security, trend analysis, system administration, to assess the traffic on the Sites, and to maintain and make improvements to the Sites. While we do not link IP addresses to your personal information, we may use an IP address when necessary to enforce compliance with this Notice, to protect the Sites, customers, or other visitors, or to comply with applicable laws.

  • Web beacons. We may use web beacons (sometimes called "tracking pixels" or "clear gifs"). Web beacons are tiny graphic files that enable us to recognize when someone has visited our Sites or opened an email sent to them as part of our marketing campaign. This allows us, for example, to monitor the traffic coming from one page within our Sites to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether you have come to our Sites from a third-party website, to improve Site performance, and to measure the success of email marketing campaigns. These technologies are reliant mainly on cookies to function properly, so your choice to enable or disable tracking cookies at our Sites will affect the functionality of these technologies as well.

  • 3rd Party Services Used on our Sites. We may use 3rd party services at our Sites for multiple purposes:
    • Google Analytics. Our Sites may use analytical tools from Google that use cookies and other, similar technologies to collect and analyze information about use of our Sites. More information about Google’s practices can be found in their privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

    • Google Maps. To show our locations or provide you with directions our Sites may use embedded maps from Google. More information about Google’s practices can be found in their privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. .

    • Google reCAPTCHA. To help protect our website contact forms from spam and abuse we use a challenge-response test from Google to help distinguish activity by humans from automated means, such as bots. More information about Google’s practices can be found in their privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

    • Adobe Typekit. To correctly format and display of our web page, our Sites may use fonts from Adobe Systems Incorporated. More information about Adobe’s practices can be found in their privacy policy at: https://www.adobe.com/privacy/policies/typekit.html.

We follow generally accepted security standards in our operations to protect the security and integrity of your personal information, considering the relative risks involved and the nature of the personal information in question, including requiring that service providers who access or handle personal information on our behalf maintain such safeguards. However, there is always some element of risk and no method of data transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure or error free. As a result, while we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee the absolute security and integrity of any information you transmit or provide to us.
