Information Collection
Personal Information You Voluntarily Provide. We may collect personal information when you voluntarily interact with us, such as your contact information when you subscribe to receive newsletters, register for a call or event, or request information. Or information you provide when participating in surveys and questionnaires, through completing an online form, or engaging in interactive and community features.
Personal Information to Support Our Products and Services: We may collect personal information to respond to your specific request, to fulfill an order, to send important product and service updates, and to respond to service or account-related issues.
Personal Information We May Automatically Collect. We may use various technologies to collect personal information about you when you visit or use our websites ("Sites"). We may also collect information from promotional communications.
Please refer for further details to our Privacy Notice.
Information Use, Disclosure and Transfer
We may use personal information for a variety of business, security, and performance purposes such as to market and deliver products or services to you, to respond to your requests and otherwise communicate with you, to enhance security and system administration, and to analyze and improve Site performance and your experiences. Your personal information will be retained for as long as needed to meet these purposes or as otherwise required by law or for regulatory compliance.
We may share personal information with other companies or vendors which assist us in these purposes, and which agree to use it only for that limited and specified purpose and subject to security and confidentiality requirements. Additionally, because Leggett is a global company, we may share your information with other subsidiaries and business units in other parts of the world. In some cases, this may mean that your personal information is processed in the US. In these instances, in addition to adhering to the Privacy Shield Principles, we will transfer under a lawful transfer mechanism.
We will also disclose information we maintain when required to do so, such as when a law, court order, or other judicial or administrative process requires us to do so. Upon receipt of a lawful request by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements, we will only provide such information that we in good faith believe is required to comply with the lawful demand.
We may also disclose or share personal information when we believe to be necessary or appropriate, such as to enforce agreement terms, to respond to emergency situations, to protect or defend our rights, interests, or property, or in the context of a transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or sale.
We may share aggregate or anonymized information, which is not personally identifiable, with others.
Choice
When you provide personal Information to us, you consent to our using that personal information in a manner consistent with this Statement and any further information provided to you during the collection process. You may have choices about whether we use your personal information to communicate with you and, if we do communicate with you, what form that communication takes. For example, if you wish to stop receiving promotional emails or newsletters, you may unsubscribe using the unsubscribe link or by following the directions included in the communication or you may use the Contact Form noted below.
Further, we will not share your personal information with any third party for uses other than those described in this Statement without first providing you with notice and a clear choice to "opt-out" of such disclosure. Please note that, if you opt-out of such disclosure, we may still retain and use your personal information consistent with the uses described herein.
We do not seek, nor do we knowingly process, "sensitive" personal information unless we have a lawful basis for doing so. Sensitive personal information relates to, for example, an individual’s race, sexual orientation, criminal allegations or offenses, trade union memberships, their mental or physical health, or their biometric information. If for any reason Leggett discloses sensitive personal information to any third party, Leggett will only do so pursuant to a lawful basis, such as your affirmative express consent.
Accountability for Onward Transfer
Prior to making any disclosures to third parties, such as vendors and service providers acting on our behalf for a limited and specified purpose, we will consider whether they are providing at least the same level of privacy protection as is required by the Privacy Shield Principles. We will also take reasonable and appropriate steps to ensure that personal information will only be processed in a manner consistent with our obligations under the EU-US and the Swiss-US Privacy Shield Principles, including notification if circumstances change and it is no longer for the third party to meet its obligations. Upon notice, we will take reasonable and appropriate steps to stop and remediate the unauthorized processing. Leggett remains potentially liable under the Privacy Shield Principles if third-party agents that it engages to assist with processing personal information on its behalf do so in a manner inconsistent with the Privacy Shield Principles.
Information Security
We deploy a combination of reasonable and appropriate physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to help protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and unauthorized destruction. However, there is always some element of risk and no method of data transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure or error free. As a result, while we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee the absolute security and integrity of any information you transmit or provide to us. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please immediately notify us at the contact information below.
Integrity, Purpose Limitation, and Access
We will only process personal information in ways that are compatible with the purposes we collected it for, or the purposes you later authorize. When we receive a specific request from you, we will take all reasonable steps necessary to ensure that your personal information is reliable, accurate, complete, current, and relevant to its intended use.
You may have the right to access your personal information we hold about you and request that we correct, amend, or delete your personal information if it is inaccurate or processed in violation of the Privacy Shield Principles, subject to certain exception such as where the burden or expense of providing access would be disproportionate to the risk to your privacy, where the rights of persons other than you would be violated, where the organization’s confidential commercial information would be compromised, where it would interfere with the execution or enforcement of the law or with a private cause of action, or where it would breach a legal or other professional privilege or obligation. If you have any questions about access to your personal information or to initiate a request, use the Contact Us options below. Your request will be timely handled. Please note that we may request specific information from you to confirm your identity or better understand the request and locate responsive information. We may also charge a reasonable fee.
Handling Concerns of EU, EEA, Swiss and UK Individuals
In compliance with the Privacy Shield Principles, Leggett commits to resolve complaints about your privacy and our collection or use of your personal information transferred to the US pursuant to Privacy Shield. EU, UK, and Swiss individuals with Privacy Shield inquiries or complaints should first contact Leggett using the Contact Us options noted below. We are committed to helping resolve complaints about your privacy and our processing of your personal information in a fair and respectful manner.
Leggett has further committed to refer unresolved privacy complaints under the Privacy Shield Principles to an independent dispute resolution mechanism, the BBB EU PRIVACY SHIELD. If you do not receive timely acknowledgment of your complaint, or if your complaint is not satisfactorily addressed, please visit https://bbbprograms.org/privacy-shield-complaints/ for more information and to file a complaint. This service is provided free of charge to you.
If your Privacy Shield complaint cannot be resolved through the above channels, under certain conditions, you may invoke binding arbitration for some residual claims not resolved by other redress mechanisms. To find out more about the Privacy Shield’s binding arbitration scheme, please see How to Submit a Complaint | Privacy Shield and ANNEX I (introduction) | Privacy Shield.
Policy Regarding Children
Unless otherwise stated, Leggett does not knowingly collect data from children (as defined by local law) without parental or legal guardian consent, or as otherwise permitted by applicable law. Please contact us immediately if you believe we have done so, and we will respond in a timely manner to your request.
Updates To This Statement
