Your personal information will be retained for as long as needed to meet these purposes or as otherwise required by law or for regulatory compliance.

We may share personal information with other companies or vendors which assist us in these purposes, and which agree to use it only for that limited and specified purpose and subject to security and confidentiality requirements. Additionally, because Leggett is a global company, we may share your information with other subsidiaries and business units in other parts of the world. In these instances we will transfer the data under an applicable lawful transfer mechanism.

We will also disclose information we maintain when required to do so, such as when a law, court order, or other judicial or administrative process requires us to do so. Further, we will not share your personal information with any third party for uses other than those described in this Statement without first providing you with notice and a clear choice to "opt-out" of such disclosure. Please note that, if you opt-out of such disclosure, we may still retain and use your personal information consistent with the uses described herein.

We do not seek, nor do we knowingly process, "sensitive" personal information unless we have a lawful basis for doing so. If for any reason Leggett & Platt discloses sensitive personal information to any third party, Leggett & Platt will only do so pursuant to a lawful basis, such as your affirmative express consent.

Accountability for Onward Transfer

Prior to making any disclosures to third parties, such as vendors and service providers acting on our behalf for a limited and specified purpose, we will consider whether they are providing at least the same level of privacy protection as is required by the Data Privacy Framework Principles.  We will also take reasonable and appropriate steps to ensure that personal information will only be processed in a manner consistent with our obligations under the EU-U.S. and the Swiss-U.S. DPF Principles, including notification if circumstances change and it is no longer possible for the third party to meet its obligations. Upon notice, we will take reasonable and appropriate steps to stop and remediate the unauthorized processing. Leggett & Platt remains potentially liable under the DPF Principles if third-party agents that it engages to assist with processing personal information on its behalf do so in a manner inconsistent with the DPF Principles.

When we receive a specific request from you, we will take all reasonable steps necessary to ensure that your personal information is reliable, accurate, complete, current, and relevant to its intended use.

You may have the right to access your personal information we hold about you and request that we correct, amend, or delete your personal information if it is inaccurate or processed in violation of the Data Privacy Framework Principles, subject to certain exception such as where the burden or expense of providing access would be disproportionate to the risk to your privacy, where the rights of persons other than you would be violated, where the organization’s confidential commercial information would be compromised, where it would interfere with the execution or enforcement of the law or with a private cause of action, or where it would breach a legal or other professional privilege or obligation.
